Import to calculator

Upload files to our PIT-38 calculator. The system automatically recognizes the format and broker.

3

Verify calculations

Check FIFO calculations, NBP exchange rates, and PIT-38 section breakdown (C, D, G). Compare with PIT-8C from your Polish broker.

4

File PIT-38 via e-PIT

Enter calculated values into the PIT-38 form in Twój e-PIT or e-Deklaracje system.

FAQ

PIT-38 Deadlines: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the PIT-38 filing deadline for 2025?
The PIT-38 deadline for the year 2025 is April 30, 2026. This applies to both stock/ETF income and cryptocurrency gains. You can file electronically via Twój e-PIT or e-Deklaracje.
When can I start filing PIT-38?
PIT season opens on February 15, 2026, with the launch of the Twój e-PIT system. Polish brokers provide PIT-8C by the end of January.
Is the PIT-ZG deadline the same as PIT-38?
Yes. PIT-ZG is an attachment to PIT-38 and must be filed together by April 30. PIT-ZG covers income earned abroad — e.g., from Interactive Brokers, DEGIRO, or Revolut.
Do I have to file PIT-38 if I only had losses?
Yes, even with only losses, you must file PIT-38. Moreover, declared losses can be deducted from gains over the next 5 tax years (Art. 9 par. 3 of the PIT Act).
How do I file PIT-38 electronically?
Log in to podatki.gov.pl → Twój e-PIT. For Polish brokers, PIT-8C data is pre-filled. For foreign brokers, you must enter values manually. Our calculator prepares ready-to-use numbers.
I filed PIT-38 with an error — what now?
File a correction via Twój e-PIT or e-Deklaracje. Corrections filed by June 30 without voluntary disclosure carry no interest. After that, interest accrues on tax arrears.
When will the tax office refund my overpayment?
The tax office refunds overpayments within 45 days of electronic filing or 3 months for paper filing. The earlier you file, the sooner you get your refund.
Do cryptocurrencies also need to be filed by April 30?
Yes. Cryptocurrency income (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) is reported in PIT-38, Section E. The deadline is the same: April 30, 2026. Taxable events include converting crypto to PLN, EUR, or other fiat currency.
Does Twój e-PIT work for foreign brokers?
No. The Twój e-PIT system only contains data from Polish brokers (PIT-8C). If you invest through Interactive Brokers, DEGIRO, Revolut, Trading 212, eToro, or Exante — you must calculate the tax yourself. Our calculator imports reports from these brokers and prepares ready data for PIT-38.
Can I deduct losses from previous years?
Yes. Losses from previous years can be deducted from capital gains for 5 consecutive years (Art. 9 par. 3). Important: the loss must have been previously declared in PIT-38.
How much does being 1 day late with PIT-38 cost?
Even a 1-day delay constitutes a fiscal misdemeanor (Art. 54 KKS). The fine ranges from 466.60 PLN to 93,320 PLN. Additionally, interest accrues on unpaid tax. The best solution is to file voluntary disclosure as soon as possible.
What's changing in investment taxes for 2026?
