Coinbase
www.coinbase.comExporting transaction history from Coinbase
Regular Coinbase is supported automatically, but only for the retail "Transactions" CSV export. For accurate FIFO settlement, download the full tax-year history and, ideally, older years as well if you bought crypto earlier.
Log in to Coinbase in your web browser.
Click your profile icon and open "Statements", "Reports", or "Taxes & reports" — the exact label may vary by UI version.
Choose the option to generate a custom transaction statement / report.
Set the date range to the full tax year (or full history), select all relevant assets, and make sure you are exporting detailed transaction history rather than a tax summary only.
Choose CSV as the file format.
Click "Generate" or "Download" and save the original file to your computer without editing it.
We support the regular retail Coinbase "Transactions" CSV. If you sell assets purchased in earlier years, import older files too so the calculator can determine the correct FIFO cost basis.
The automatic parser covers regular Coinbase only. Coinbase Pro / Exchange exports are documented separately and are not supported automatically yet.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate crypto tax from Coinbase in Poland?
Import your Coinbase "Transactions" CSV into the calculator. It will apply the FIFO method to match sales to purchases, convert amounts to PLN using NBP exchange rates, and calculate the 19% tax for your PIT-38 return.
What is the difference between Coinbase and Coinbase Pro exports?
Regular Coinbase exports a retail "Transactions" CSV which our calculator supports automatically. Coinbase Pro (now Advanced Trade) uses a different "Fills" export format. Make sure you download from the correct platform.
Which Coinbase export format should I choose?
Choose the detailed "Transactions" CSV export, not the annual tax summary. The transactions file contains individual buy/sell records needed for FIFO calculations. The tax summary alone is insufficient.
Do I need to import history from previous years?
Yes, if you bought crypto in earlier years and sold it in the current tax year. The FIFO method requires knowing the original purchase price, so import your complete history from the first purchase onward.
Common Issues and Solutions
I exported too short a date range
Use the full tax year or full history. A short date range can remove the acquisition lots needed for later sales.
I downloaded a tax summary instead of transaction history
You need the detailed "Transactions" CSV export, not just an annual summary / tax report.
The file was opened and resaved in Excel
Import the original unmodified CSV file. Editing it in Excel or Sheets can break headers and formatting.
Ready to import your file?
Log in to the calculator and import your transactions. The system will automatically recognize the Coinbase format.
