Exporting Transactions from Revolut (Stocks)

Revolut is a popular broker among investors. The stock transaction history export is in PDF format — this is the only supported format for stocks (crypto exports are available in CSV/Excel). Revolut does not issue PIT-8C. Country is determined from ISIN when available. Transactions without ISIN may need manual country assignment.

1

Go to the "Invest" tab, select "More" and then "Documents"

2

Select "Trading account"

3

Select "Profit and Loss Statement"

4

Select PDF format, set the widest possible custom date range (tip: it is convenient to first select "month", mark the dates, then switch to "custom")

5

Download the statement and send the file by email to your computer or upload directly to the application

Generate a report for all previous years — this allows you to include the full transaction history. Make sure dates in different files do not overlap. PDF format is required by the application.

Exporting Cryptocurrencies from Revolut

For cryptocurrencies, Revolut supports CSV and Excel (.xlsx) formats — both work the same way. PDF format is not supported for cryptocurrency statements. The application automatically identifies and excludes crypto-to-crypto transactions (tax neutral). Cryptocurrency services for EEA customers are provided by Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd (RDAEL) registered in Cyprus, so in PIT/ZG, Revolut cryptocurrency income is reported under the code CY (Cyprus). Commission handling: Revolut deducts the commission from the amount of crypto received (not as a separate fee above the purchase price). On a buy, the commission is already included in the total cost. On a sell, the commission reduces revenue and is shown as a separate cost item.

1

Go to the "Crypto" tab, select "More" (...) and press "Documents"

2

Select "Account Statement"

3

Select "Excel" format (CSV and .xlsx are both supported — PDF is not supported for crypto)

4

Select the period "from the beginning" (or the full year) and press "Generate"

Tax Settlement with Revolut

Revolut is a British broker, so all stock transactions require the PIT-ZG appendix to PIT-38. The calculator automatically identifies foreign transactions and prepares a breakdown by country.

Cryptocurrencies are settled in PIT-38 as virtual currencies. Each sale, exchange, or use of cryptocurrency generates taxable income at a 19% rate.

Cryptocurrencies are NOT settled using the FIFO method. In a given tax year, all revenues from selling crypto for fiat and all costs of purchasing crypto for fiat are summed — the difference constitutes income or loss. Unused purchase costs carry forward to the next year through field E.38 in PIT-38.

Revolut reports transactions in GBP (stocks) or in original cryptocurrency currencies. The calculator automatically converts everything to PLN according to NBP rates.

Revolut fees (spread, commissions) are a tax-deductible expense and reduce taxable income.

Example of Tax Settlement for a Revolut Transaction

Stock example: You bought 10 Tesla (TSLA) shares in January 2025 at $200 per share (USD/PLN rate: 4.00 = 8,000 PLN). In June 2025, you sold all shares at $250 (USD/PLN rate: 4.10 = 10,250 PLN). Revolut spread: 50 PLN. Income: 10,250 - 8,000 - 50 = 2,200 PLN. Tax: 2,200 x 19% = 418 PLN. This transaction requires PIT-ZG. Crypto example: You bought 0.1 BTC in January 2025 for $4,000 (USD/PLN rate: 4.00 = 16,000 PLN). In June 2025, you sold 0.05 BTC for $2,500 (USD/PLN rate: 4.10 = 10,250 PLN). Acquisition cost of 0.05 BTC = 8,000 PLN. Income: 10,250 - 8,000 = 2,250 PLN. Tax: 2,250 x 19% = 427.50 PLN.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pay cryptocurrency tax?

Yes, in Poland cryptocurrency gains are taxed at a flat 19% rate. Tax is due when you sell crypto for fiat currency (PLN, USD, EUR, etc.). Crypto-to-crypto exchanges are tax neutral.

How do I settle Revolut crypto taxes?

Export the CSV or Excel statement from the Revolut crypto section and import it into the application. The calculator automatically identifies crypto-to-fiat transactions and calculates the tax due.

Why should I select "from the beginning"?

Cryptocurrency purchase costs can be carried forward to subsequent years. If you bought crypto in 2023 and sell it in 2025, the 2023 purchase cost reduces your 2025 taxable income. Without the full history, these costs would be lost.

Are crypto-to-crypto swaps and staking taxed?

No — in Poland, only crypto-to-fiat transactions generate taxable income. Exchanging one cryptocurrency for another (e.g., BTC → ETH) and staking rewards are tax neutral events.

Do stock transactions through Revolut require PIT-ZG?

Yes, since Revolut is a foreign broker, all stock transactions require the PIT-ZG appendix. The application automatically prepares the required summary.
